Our client, a leader in copper and metals manufacturing, is looking for an experienced Quality Specialist to work in their Cedar Rapids facility.

 

Primary duties include but not limited to:

  • Expected to follow all safety rules and policies and work in a manner that protects themselves and other stakeholders from hazards and injuries.
  • Facilitate Quality standards and practices for manufacturing, including:
    • Disposition of Quality non-conformances,
    • Review of vision and other coil inspection systems data to ensure product quality
    • Quality decision-making at production work centers.
  • Interface with Production, Production Planning and Laboratory to ensure quality product flow.
  • Assist in the management of Customer expectations related to Quality.
  • Facilitate corrective action and initiate preventative action with PMX personnel.
  • Complete internal process audits to determine system capabilities to meet customer requirements.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

 

Temporary position

Hours 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday

Pay rate $20.00 per hour

Summary:
Build electrical and fiber optic cable assemblies using hand and mechanical tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure, cut, and prep hose, cable, and wire

  • Pull wire through hose and hardware before soldering

  • Assemble parts using specified procedures

  • Use forklift and load meter to stretch jumper assemblies

  • Record labor hours accurately

  • Troubleshoot issues with minimal engineering help

 Position Overview:

Under close supervision, performs the assembly of electrical components per the drawings and attached documentation to meet customer specifications while ensuring safety and quality standards. This includes a wide variety of repetitive and non-repetitive mechanical/electrical sub-assembly and assembly operations of a semi-skilled nature to produce products.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble components to top level assembly per drawing and procedures.
  • Makes accurate mathematical calculations and uses precision measuring instruments as required.
  • Uses a variety of hand & power tools (i.e. arbor press, soldering iron, electrical wire strippers) to perform skilled fitting and assembly work.  Inspect parts and performs basic tests.
  • Prepare products for final testing which include strip, tin, and labeling.
  • Perform hand soldering using a soldering iron (tinning operation)
  • Performs basic testing, assembly and or disassembly of assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional tooling such as multi-meter, screwdriver, torque wrench, standard wrench, etc.
  • Reworks and repairs defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel.
  • Support stockroom kitting of materials for electrical assembly
  • Recommend process improvements in production methods, equipment performance, and product quality and employee safety.
  • Actively participate in team problem solving methods for product quality enhancements.
  • Learn entry-level material transactions and labor reporting on MRP planning system.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Job Duties:

  • Post transactions to the general ledger and ensure proper coding.
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with monthly reporting, documentation, and audit preparation.
  • Support accounting team with testing, reporting, and documentation during system implementation.

TEMPORARY WAREHOUSE STAFF SUPPORT

Remedy is pleased to work with some of the finest companies in Eastern Iowa. One of our clients needs a staff member to work for 6 to 12 weeks in the warehouse of a manufacturing company.

This 6 to 12 week position is needed for first shift – 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Pay rate is $22.00 per hour.

Requirements Of The Job:

  • Ability to use pallet jacks, must have recent fork truck experience
  • Ability to read and follow instructions
  • Must be able to move material from or to warehouse as needed
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work over time as needed

Day Shift

This position provides for the effective fabrication of sheet metal componentry of lighting fixtures. Position may be on CNC Turret punch presses, CNC Press brakes, or Pinning machine. The machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications.

• Read and understand Traveler • Read and understand the Ops sheet • Read and correctly interpret blueprints. • Understand how to read and use a protractor • Perform basic quality checks (both visual and measuring with a protractor and tape measure) • Identify tooling needed for machine/program/Ops sheet • Identify if tooling needs sharping or is damaged • Load tooling in the machine • Operate Press brakes or Turrets. • Setting up of machinery from proven programs. • Evaluate all engineering drawings and ensure implementation according to welding specifications. • Perform all welding work with help of forming and cutting equipments. • Provide assistance to production process and mould various fixtures. • Design and produce new parts according to BUCYRUS specifications. • Perform efficient welding of various metal objects with help of gas torch and welder. • Perform repair to damage alloy articles and prepare new articles with help of welding machines. • Perform work with help of various hand and power tools. • Analyze diagrams and specifications and cut all metal accordingly with help of welding torch. • Assist to remove all soft metal for welding. • Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks
