Now Hiring: Industrial Maintenance Technician

Our client, a leading wood manufacturing facility in Alexandria, LA, is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join their maintenance team. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime and support efficient manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment and possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial production equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Diagnose equipment failures and make timely repairs to minimize production downtime
• Inspect machinery and identify potential maintenance concerns
• Complete work orders and document repairs performed
• Maintain conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and other production equipment
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documents
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Work closely with production personnel to ensure equipment reliability

Qualifications

Required

• Previous industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Basic electrical maintenance knowledge
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
• Ability to diagnose and repair production equipment issues
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety

Preferred

• Experience in wood products, lumber, paper, or related manufacturing industries
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, conveyors, and electrical controls
• Technical training, maintenance certification, or related education

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around moving machinery
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures and industrial conditions
