Job Duties of a Material Handler:
- Receive incoming freight, inspect for damage, and resolve freight claims
- Verify and process incoming materials from suppliers
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment
- Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment
- Maintain accurate inventory records in our electronic (MRP) system
- Perform cycle counts and help resolve inventory discrepancies
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages
- Build pallets/skids and properly secure shipments
- Kit parts and stage materials for production or shipment
- Ensure materials are properly labeled and stored

- Assemble electrical, metal, aluminum, and other assorted materials into sub-assemblies or major assemblies (entire display cases)
- Provide support to production operations
- Replenish material inventories
- Load, unload, and move material and parts between production areas, based on production schedules and order priorities.
- Transfer materials or product to dedicated drop and/or pick up zones.
- Verify part numbers and check discrepancies, such as damaged or unmarked parts.

Responsibilities
- Set up and operate multiple machines to produce parts to specific dimensions.
- Check dimensions against a shop print using required measuring devices and gauges at required intervals for quality.
- Separate acceptable from non-acceptable parts in production.
- Identifies work in process materials and transfers it to the next processing step or storage as directed by the supervisor. Package parts in appropriate container with tare weights as necessary.
- Accurately completes Quality Traceability Cards and Material Exchange Sheets.
- Accurate use of Time Clock System to record Attendance, Job time, Step time, and Quantity produced.
- Maintains and keeps track of all required hand tools and tooling for each individual machine.
- Perform adjustments and inspections on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as required.
- Performs various other duties such as maintaining your work area in a clean and organized manner. You may also be required to assist other workers with production-related tasks as assigned. Operators should always work as efficiently and safely as possible.
- Ability to safely move materials using powered industrial trucks, pallet jacks and overhead cranes.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and machines. Ensure guards are returned to their intended position after cleaning and maintenance.
