This position is responsible for assembling electrical and fiber optic jumper and cable assemblies utilizing various mechanical and hand tools.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Measure, cut, prepare rubber hose, cable, wire for termination
  • Pull wire through hose ID and any attached hardware prior to soldering
  • Terminate hose and cable assemblies with machined hardware per procedure
  • Stretch jumper assemblies utilizing a forklift and load meter
  • Accurately report labor hours for each order
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with little to no engineering support
  • Maintaining security for all quality verification equipment and its calibration control
  • Notify errors on procedures, drawings, bills of material, and router to the support teams (Quality, Manufacturing Engineering).

The main purpose of this position is:
Acquire skills necessary to assemble Fiber Optic connectors or jumpers per drawings and attached documentation to meet customer specifications.

The significant duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assemble components to top level assembly per drawing and procedures.

  • Test and troubleshoot using optical test equipment to verify functionality of completed assemblies.

  • Recommend process improvements in production methods, equipment performance, product quality and employee safety.

  • Actively participate in team problem solving methods for product quality enhancements.

  • Learn rudimentary material transactions and labor reporting on MRP planning system.

  • Learn optical polishing techniques, both machine and manual.

  • Communicate written and verbal technical issues to management and engineering for problem resolution.

  • Must be flexible to operate in multiple departments and rapidly changing work environments.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED,

  • Responsible for account reconciliations.

  • Creates variance analysis reports for related to revenue.

  • Work with the shared services team in the preparation of internal and external reporting.

  • Assisting Controller with forecast.

  • Coordinates and implements system and process changes for continuous improvement.

Education and Experience:

  • CPA certification preferred.

  • 7 years or more of General Ledger accounting experience.

  • Computer proficient (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Power BI).

  • Must always wear PPE and assure all employees and visitors adhere to ODI safety guidelines and procedures.

  • Must communicate with engineers and planners daily to assure routers and schedules are accurate.

  • Proactively identify and implement ways to reduce set up times and then communicate such that routers and schedules reflect the improvements.

  • Responsible for training by mentoring employees.

  • Play an active role regarding “Lean” processes by working and communicating with Planning, Quality, Peers, and Engineering to identify and implement ways to improve flow to increase throughput.

  • Identify potential cost reductions regarding product design and communicate to Leads and Engineering for evaluation.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1-2 years’ experience in Manual Lathe and Mill operation

  • 3-5 years’ experience in CNC Lathe operation

  • Experience in an Engineer-to-order Make-to-Order shop environment

  • Experience or training in and can demonstrate an understanding of “Lean Manufacturing Principles”

 

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to read and understand blueprints

  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Working knowledge of MS Office programs, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Demonstrated ability to setup a machine and run the job with no supervision

  • Commitment to high quality standards and continuous improvements

  • Knowledgeable and able to use all associated precision measuring tools of the shop

  • Understands the needs of calibration cycles of measuring tools and gages.

  • Supports and assists with machine PM program

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of Lathe programming languages

  • Understands all machine hazard areas

Inventory and Logistics Associate

Pay: Up to $19 DOE 

Inventory and Logistics Associate functions, but not limited to:

  • Execute and document shipping of all outgoing products
  • Inventory control: checking expirations dates, lot codes, and cycle counts
  • Maintain accurate inventory, perform daily cycle counts, collaboratewith accounting and logistics to reconcile
  • Attention to detail while remaining in compliance with all safety, storage, forhazardous / non-hazardous materials
  • Informs problems relating to transportation and logistics systems
  • Work with Safety and /compliance to determine necessary food safetycontrols are in place for inbound and outbound shipments
  • Create BOL’s and labels for all outbound shipments
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures for inventory and logistics activities
  • Maintains metrics, reports, documentation and service logs
  • Follow schedules of product distribution−Assist other team members when needed to meet schedule
  • Ensure shipping carrier requirements and regulations are met
  • Respond to shipping complaints, lost items, damages
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors in the transport chain
  • Unload incoming deliveries, receive, verify, inspect and process incomingshipments per SOP's
  • Supply inventory and ordering, matching all orders to appropriate purchaseorders

Requirements:

  • High level of organizational skills
  • Time management−Operate forklifts, electric pallets jacks, pallet jacks, and carts to movefinished products and raw materials
  • Ability to problem solve issues that may arise−Inform management of ongoing performance issues, provide solutions
  • Fluency in English
  • Comprehension and calculation of pricing
  • Proficient in MS Office, i.e.. Word and Excel


Work Environment
Warehouse setting, fast-paced environment
Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders and stairs, stand,walk, and turn/pivot walking on uneven and concrete floors throughoutthe duration of the workday.
Able to lift to 50lbs
Variable temperatures and humidity
