Pay: $11.83 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday-Friday
Availability: Must be available for occasional after-hours, weekend, and emergency response work.

Remedy Staffing is currently seeking a dependable and motivated Entry-Level Water Utility Technician for a temp-to-hire opportunity with the Water Department. This position provides hands-on experience in water distribution, utility maintenance, and municipal services while supporting the essential infrastructure that keeps our community running.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of water lines, valves, hydrants, and related infrastructure.
- Identify and assist with repairing water leaks and service line issues.
- Read water meters and accurately record data.
- Respond to service calls and assist with emergency repairs.
- Operate hand tools, equipment, and service vehicles safely.
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work sites.
- Monitor system conditions and report maintenance concerns to supervisors.
- Follow all departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including digging, shoveling, bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to enter and work in trenches, excavations, and water-filled work areas during repairs.
- Ability to work in and around standing water, mud, and uneven terrain.
- Ability to work safely around moving traffic, heavy equipment, machinery, and active construction zones.
- Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and City vehicles.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations and perform strenuous physical labor when needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Previous experience in utilities, construction, maintenance, public works, landscaping, or general labor is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
