  • Oversee and coordinate the maintenance and repair of mobile equipment in the plant.
  • Analyze, identify, recommend, and implement solutions for reducing production downtime
  • Monitor equipment performance, investigate failures, analyze data, and develop and execute action plans to improve reliability.
  • Plan, manage and oversee pre-emptive and reactive repair program for production, facility, and testing equipment.
  • Responsible for SAP database of existing and obsolete production, facility and testing equipment.
  • Revise existing PMs, generate accurate work orders with detailed scope, as needed.
  • Publish/distribute PM’s to Production, Quality, Facilities, R&D, and other areas, as needed.

Capable of clearly defining appropriate technical approaches and solutions to most critical challenges. Able to define critical project criteria to ensure project completion. Uses creativity to resolve complex issues. Has demonstrated leadership skills and a working knowledge of business and customer requirements. Demonstrates exceptional communications skills.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Use company policies and procedures to complete work assignments.
  • Design underwater hydrophones and/or active and passive transducers utilizing cylindrical ceramics, flexural disks, cantilever beams, and geophones.
  • Design, model, simulate, and test complex acoustic transducers.
  • Assist engineering with design modification of acoustic subsystems and systems for development.
  • Support designs with analysis, simulations and calculations including space, Mathcad, MATLAB and FEA. Prepare drawings/documentation for work as required for engineering and manufacturing of products.
  • Conduct complex in-house tests, direct and guide or mentor other Engineers.
  • Apply risk, failure analysis, and root cause analysis as required within the engineering discipline.
  • Represent engineering in cross-departmental activities such as Material Review Board.
  • Resolve product process and system issues; provide recommendation for enhancements and cost reductions; initiate Engineering Change Notices; and formulate cost impacts.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of engineering activities.
  • May act as project lead including organizing, execution, and coordinating technical assignments.
  • Evaluate materials and systems, identify equipment, or prepare work instructions for manufacturing.
  • Provide training and/or direction to other engineers, technicians or manufacturing operators.
  • Provide input to bid and proposal activities.
  • Provide communications and/or presentations to customers, suppliers or vendors.
  • Travel and participation in product field tests.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Diverse metal tube fabricating company is looking for an experienced machine shop manager to lead and develop our growing team.

The ideal candidate will be able to

  • Fine-tune existing production processes and position the company for future growth and operational excellence.
  • Machining department consists of 10 CNC machines that are used to produce small components and fittings used in metal tubular products as well as fixtures and tooling used throughout the facility.
  • Lot sizes range from single pieces to as high as 20,000 and is diverse and high-mix.
  • Materials machined include 300 series stainless, brass, aluminum, and carbon steel.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10-15 years experience in a production machining environment in either a leadership or engineering role and have a strong understanding of G-Code and conversational programming, tooling, and work-holding.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on leadership and mentoring
  • Develop, program, implement, and validate new machining processes
  • Daily production scheduling & staffing
  • Process improvement
  • Process monitoring and reporting
  • Estimating cycle times for new products
  • Training and employee development
