Print Operator Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains the printing schedule and verifies PDF files, book specifications and print quantities.
- Operates, maintains, and backs up the computer systems through established back-up maintenance and housekeeping procedures.
- Troubleshoots in-house communications problems .Confirms correct paper stock utilization for book printing.
- Monitors inventory levels for printer supplies by consuming parts and beginning the replenishment process in a timely basis.
- Sets up and operates paper roll stand, book text printers, cutting/folding equipment.
- Performs continuous inspections on book print quality to ensure achievement of productivity targets and quality standards.
- Performs required cleaning and maintenance of the printing and folding machines throughout the day. This includes upkeep of the automated cleaning tools.
- Performs print head maintenance, including rotation and replacement of print heads. Initiates first line troubleshooting of equipment, makes minor repairs as needed and/or alerts department mechanic or Help Desk of any technical problems.
- Maintains and completes various reports and documents including daily logs, malfunction reports, and shift-change report's.
- Keeps computer and print machinery clean and performs routine operator services to maintain the orderliness and operating status of the machines.
