Start a position as Summer Production Help with First or Second Shift hours on a team with one of the biggest distributors of school supplies in the country!

This is a seasonal, summer position with first and second shift availability. 

First shift starts at 6am (as early as 5am when needed) and goes until finished (usually around 3:00pm).

Second shift starts at 2:15pm and goes until finished (usually around 11)

*Second shift will start and train on first shift- second shift hours to begin in June

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Picking product.

Utilize RF equipment to pick product.

Ensure quantity and quality per order.

Receive boxes from Order Filling.

Verify contents, print packing labels.

Air pack to fill gaps.

Use electric or hand held taping device to close box.

Receive boxes in and out.

  • Monitor key planning and reporting tools, including exceptions reports, consumption reports, and past-due reports.

  • Maintain and update relevant MRP settings, routing data, and master data for materials and suppliers.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in procurement, supply chain, or a similar role.

  • Experience working with suppliers in global or low-cost regions (such as India, China, or Eastern Europe).

  • Experience applying lean concepts such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, or 5S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related technical field.

  • Professional certifications such as CPIM, CSCP, APICS, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma Green Belt.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely, data-driven decisions.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred).

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience implementing or managing Kanban or pull-based inventory systems.

  • Knowledge of supplier qualification processes and supplier performance management practices.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships and influence stakeholders across different levels of an organization.

Shifts:

2nd/Evening – 3:00pm – 11:30pm; Monday-Friday

3rd/Night – 11:00pm – 7:30am; Sunday-Thursday

 

Pay: $21.50/Hour 

 

Job Duties of the Assistant Machine Operator:

 

  • Support Machine Operation: Assist with machine set-up and operation, ensuring proper and safe techniques are followed to maintain efficient production of quality materials.
  • Quality Control & Inspection: Perform regular inspections and random material checks to ensure product specifications are met, including size, printing, folding, and scoring.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Clean-Up: Conduct daily/weekly clean-ups and submit maintenance requests for equipment repairs to maintain peak machine performance.
  • Minimize Waste & Maximize Output: Monitor operations to reduce ink, adhesive, and material waste while optimizing equipment usage at full capacity and speed.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all company policies and safety procedures to maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.
