Shift: 7am to 7pm, rotating schedule.
Long Term Temporary position.
Position Summary: The Shredder operator is trained to assist in several areas of production including but not limited to the packaging system, warehousing, pulp shredding, and handling equipment to safely produce quality product in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate all equipment necessary to properly shred raw materials and/or package finished product
- Load, unload, store, sample, and transfer raw materials, finished product, and miscellaneous items
- Provide relief coverage to departments as assigned
- Maintain equipment through proper lubrication, minor repairs/adjustments; report all malfunctions and needed repairs
- Maintain accurate and complete records
- Routinely sanitize and clean plant equipment and facilities
- Assist in training new shredders
- Perform material handling duties in accordance with all applicable OSHA and EPA standards
- Effectively communicate with all other team members
- Participate in safety, quality, and productivity improvement projects
- Execute other responsibilities and projects as required
Job Requirements:
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous production experience in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing plant
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office / control system experience
Physical Requirements:
- Flexibility to work rotating shift assignments and overtime as required
