Job Opening: Temporary Utility / Forklift Driver

Our client is a nationally know beverage distributor.  They need additional warehouse staff in their Cedar Rapids facility.

SHIFT:  10:00am to 6:00pm

PAY:  $21.35/hour

This is a temporary position, should last about a month.  Start date ASAP!

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills and the ability to read, understand, and follow directions You must be able to follow work procedures and safety rules, and have solid experience with warehouse operations.  

This position is a Utility position, someone qualified to operate a forklift, but able to perform order picker and repack duties.  

• Forklift operator inspects product load for accuracy and safely moves it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.
• Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.
• Move levers or controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams with swivel-hooks, hoists, or elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, or stack material.
• Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
• Accurately pick products by matching numbers and product descriptions using voice audio headset.
• Hand stacks cases of product weighing up to 50 pounds repetitively from floor to over-head throughout the duration of the shift.
• Place the beverage products in a defined stacking pattern onto the pallet.
• Hand shrink wrap customer orders with label and move completed order to the loading dock staging area using electronic pallet jack or walkie-rider equipment.
• Report all product discrepancies or quality issues to supervision including damaged product, wrong store number, equipment issues, etc.
• Follow all safety procedures and adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the safe operation of equipment and help to maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Adhere to good housekeeping standards.
• And other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience required with Forklifts, Powered Pallet Jacks and Walkie/Rider Equipment
• Understanding the importance of completing daily inspection of equipment
• Ability to work overtime as required
• Experience operating an RF scanner required
• High school diploma or equivalent
