Job Opening: Quality Specialist
Description
Our client, a leader in copper and metals manufacturing, is looking for an experienced Quality Specialist to work in their Cedar Rapids facility.
Primary duties include but not limited to:
- Expected to follow all safety rules and policies and work in a manner that protects themselves and other stakeholders from hazards and injuries.
- Facilitate Quality standards and practices for manufacturing, including:
- Disposition of Quality non-conformances,
- Review of vision and other coil inspection systems data to ensure product quality
- Quality decision-making at production work centers.
- Interface with Production, Production Planning and Laboratory to ensure quality product flow.
- Assist in the management of Customer expectations related to Quality.
- Facilitate corrective action and initiate preventative action with PMX personnel.
- Complete internal process audits to determine system capabilities to meet customer requirements.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Temporary position
Hours 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday
Pay rate $20.00 per hour

Work Environment:
Office environment with frequent time spent in the production facilities. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particulate matter, toxic or caustic chemicals and/or a risk of radiation exposure. Frequent travel required to customer locations.
Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferably Metallurgy or Materials Science, or 2-year college degree with 3 years’ experience in flat-rolled metals industry.
