Product Packaging Machine Operator 

Remedy is pleased to work with some of the finest companies in Eastern Iowa. Our client in Cedar Rapids has a world-wide reputation in the pharmaceutical supply business.

We are looking for an experienced machine operator to work either an eight-hour or a twelve-hour shift 

1st Shift  $19.00/hour.  Twelve-hour shift 7a to 7p  

2nd Shift $20.00/hour.  Twelve-hour shift 7p to 7a

We are looking for an experienced machine operator to work either an eight-hour day shift or a twelve-hour shift – 7am to 7pm.  

The preferred candidate will be trained to operate the packaging system and material handling equipment to safely produce quality product in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices.

This is a temporary position but for the right candidate, you could be considered for other positions that would become full time. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate all equipment necessary to properly package finished product
• Load, unload, store, sample, and transfer raw materials, finished product, and miscellaneous items
• Maintain equipment through proper lubrication, minor repairs/adjustments; report all malfunctions and needed repairs
• Maintain accurate and complete records
• Routinely sanitize and clean plant equipment and facilities
• Assist in training new packagers
• Perform material handling duties in accordance with all applicable OSHA and EPA standards
• Effectively communicate with all other team members
• Participate in safety, quality, and productivity improvement projects
• Execute other responsibilities and projects as required 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous packaging experience in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing plant
• Familiarity with different type of product packaging systems a plus
• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office / control system experience

Physical Requirements:

• Flexibility to work rotating shift assignments and overtime as required
• Should be physically able as job includes a certain amount of lifting and moving
• Walking, standing, bending, grasping
