Job Opening: Machine Operator Production Facility – 2nd Shift

Remedy is pleased to work with some of the finest companies in Eastern Iowa. Our client in Cedar Rapids has a world-wide reputation in the pharmaceutical supply business.

We are looking for an experienced machine operator. Must be flexible and be willing to work either a 2nd or 3rd eight-hour night shift or a twelve-hour shift – 7pm to 7am.

$20.00/hr.

The preferred candidate will be trained to assist in several areas of production including but not limited to the packaging system, warehousing, pulp shredding, and handling equipment to safely produce quality product in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices.

This is a temporary position but for the right candidate, you could be considered for other positions that would become full time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities A Shredding Machine Operator Include:

• Operate all equipment necessary to properly shred raw materials and/or package finished product
• Load, unload, store, sample, and transfer raw materials, finished product, and miscellaneous items o Provide relief coverage to departments as assigned
• Maintain equipment through proper lubrication, minor repairs/adjustments; report all malfunctions and needed repairs
• Maintain accurate and complete records
• Routinely sanitize and clean plant equipment and facilities
• Assist in training new shredders
• Perform material handling duties in accordance with all applicable OSHA and EPA standards 
• Effectively communicate with all other team members
• Participate in safety, quality, and productivity improvement projects
• Execute other responsibilities and projects as required

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous production experience in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing plant
• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office / control system experience

Physical Requirements:

• Flexibility to work rotating shift assignments and overtime as required
• Should be physically able as job includes a certain amount of lifting and moving 
• Walking, standing, bending, grasping
