We are seeking to hire TEMPORARY Housing Intake Specialists for our valued client in Madison, WI!

- 1st Shift Housing Intake Specialist works Monday – Friday, 8:30am-5pm
- This temporary position will end near/around October 1st, 2025
The Pay for a Housing Intake Specialist:
- 1st Shift English Only – $23/hr
- 1st Shift Bilingual in English & Spanish – $24/hr
- Over time pay is paid at 1.5x your rate, after 40 hours per week is worked

Job Duties of the Housing Intake Specialist:
- Assist customers in office, via phone and via email with applications for Energy Assistance Program and provide resources for housing stability
- Answer client and vendor questions of program eligibility, benefit levels and form of payment
- Provide support to customers to collect the required verification documents for the application
- Review completed forms to see that all necessary information has been entered for data entry
- Follow up on incomplete forms pending, submission of additional materials by applicant
- File applications
- Respond to correspondence, reports
- Contacts with utility vendors
- Provide intake services (case management) and assist clients in application/certification process for other agency contracted energy programs
- Determine client eligibility and authorize payments on behalf of fuel assistance clients in emergencies to ensure deliveries and restoration of services
- Provide client resources for housing stability

- Previous experience working in an office or call center required – at least 2 years in the last 5 years
- Experience in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with clients and private and public business representatives
- Knowledge of the needs of low-income individuals and resources available
- Knowledge of utility and vendor business and collection practices
- Oral and written communications are important (a must)
- Willingness to work occasional long or irregular hours
- Stable attendance
- Personality fit – open minded – positive attitude
- Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations relating to assigned programs
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to sit and be in front of a computer monitor/use keyboard for 8+ hours
