Job Title: Machinist
Location: Cairo, GA
Shift: 2nd Shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM); Monday-Friday

Pay: $22-$33/ph, depending on experience

Duration: Direct Hire

Summary:

Company is looking for a skilled Machinist to join their team on 2nd shift. This role focuses on operating and programming machines to produce precision parts, with a strong emphasis on CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programming and use. You’ll work closely with engineering and production to support both daily operations and new product development.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate manual and CNC machines, including lathes, mills, grinders, and saws.
Use and program CMM equipment to inspect parts and ensure quality standards.
Interpret blueprints and use precision measuring tools (micrometers, comparators, etc.).
Choose correct feeds/speeds based on material and part specs.
Hold tight tolerances (±.001”) during machining.
Assist in the design and fabrication of tooling and fixtures.
Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures (Lockout/Tagout).
Perform routine maintenance and use maintenance tracking software (TMS).

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required.
2-year machining degree or certificate preferred.
At least 1 year of experience in machining (milling, drilling, turning, grinding).
Experience with CMM usage and programming preferred.
Basic CNC programming skills a plus.
Ability to read detailed blueprints and perform basic math (including metric conversions).
Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and heat.
Regular standing, climbing, reaching, and lifting required.
