Shift:
12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM
Week 1: Work Mon-Tue, off Wed-Thu, work Fri-Sat-Sun
Week 2: Off Mon-Tue, work Wed-Thu, off Fri-Sat-Sun
This rotation alternates between days and nights every two weeks
Pay: $22-$23/hr DOE Plus $3/hr night shift differential and 1.5x pay on Sundays.”
Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Associate to join our dynamic biotechnology team. Our Production Operators are skilled workers who are tasked with setting up, monitoring, and maintaining equipment and processes in our industrial biotechnology factory. Our industrial biotechnology factory uses microbes (living organisms found in nature) to produce biosolutions which are enzymes (produced by fermenting & feeding microbes) and proteins used as food ingredients. The biosolutions are used in the production of a variety of products in industries such as food, household care, animal nutrition, biofuels and more. The role of the Production Operator is key to ensure safety, quality and compliance of the production process. Some duties they are tasked with daily include: preparing raw materials, troubleshooting equipment, operating plant processing computers, making minor repairs, replacing parts, and testing materials for quality & compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of production processes according to established protocols and SOPs.
- Prepare and maintain equipment and materials for production runs to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Monitor production operations and perform in-process checks to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Document all production activities accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining compliance with GMP.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
- Participate in training and development sessions to enhance production skills and knowledge of biotechnology processes.
- Support the maintenance and cleanliness of the production area to uphold safety and quality standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a science-related field is a plus.
- Experience in a biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in data entry and documentation practices.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential overtime and weekends as needed.
- Physical abilities:
- Move freely around in the factory and outdoor surroundings, including the ability to push, pull, kneel, and squat
- Lift up to 60 pounds unassisted
- Manually manipulate and use equipment and tools; i.e. turn valves & align hoses
- Use PPE such as but not limited to: uniform, hard hat, eye protection, ear protection, hair net, beard net, & respirator
- Climb stairs and work at heights (ladders, platforms, & tanks)
- Enter & work in a confined space
