Responsibilities will include:

-Operate production machines

-Preventative maintenance of production machine

-Quality control and record keeping

-Proper documentation in SPC system

-Makes and documents machine adjustments if required and permissible

-Performs tool/mold changes and minor maintenance of equipment

-Reads, applies, and provides technical documents

-Set up operate and control process on all product produced on milling machines

-Responsible for executing production plan according to manufacturing schedule and work instructions

-maintains and performs daily preventative maintenance and supplies all machine related needs

-trouble shoot and solve minor to semi-complex problems and issues

-conduct minor root cause analysis

-verifies the setup of measurement devices

-maintains mold on machines with proper cleaning and greasing

Job Responsibilities:

• Champions a safety-first culture by conducting safety observations and/or audits as directed, and performing safety incident investigations as needed. Actively engages with employees to improve workplace culture and policies, and provides feedback regarding any safety concerns or successes to the Safety Committee as a member.
• Drives production by leading continuous improvement efforts in waste reduction, cost savings, increase speed, and on time delivery. Partners with management in monitoring key metrics for assigned area of responsibility and develops courses of action to advance plant goals.
• Reinforces lean philosophy by participating in daily Gemba walks and discussions, monthly kaizen events, and other improvement activities as directed to support corporate objectives.
• Leads daily shift kick-off meeting, communicating priorities in: safety, quality, delivery, costs, maintenance, and scheduling.
• Verifies all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks. Reviews job tickets to ensure stock, print cylinders, dies, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers are used as specified.
• Supervises press operators and make-ready staff to ensure standard work adherence.
• Performs annual performance evaluations, progressive discipline, coaching and mentoring, training and development, and timekeeping for assigned employees.
• Administers pertinent safety, human resources, and quality assurance policies, while looking for ways to improve.
• Collaborates with other team leads to share lessons learned, sustain employee engagement, drive productivity, and challenge the status quo when necessary.
• May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned

Job Requirements

2+ years Previous experience as a Printing Press Supervisor REQUIRED!
• Literate in MS Office applications
• Leads and develops team members.
• Demonstrates a respectful and professional image.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal and external communications to perform job duties.
• Effective interpersonal skills needed.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to determine “root cause” of problem and determine corrective action.
• Proficient knowledge of production materials, quality methods, and color standards are necessary.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude required.
• Experience operating a digital, flexographic, offset, or web press highly desired.
• Previous supervisory experience required

Remedy Staffing is immediately hiring for Stand/Reach Truck and Cherry Picker Forklift Operators in the Windsor area! These are career opportunities with growth and advancement potential.  

Pay: $17.00-$19.00

Shifts:

• 1st shift: 6:00AM - 4:30PM (Mon-Thurs)
• 2nd shift: 4:30PM - 3:30AM (Mon-Thurs)

• Flexibility with shifts is a MUST as schedules are determined based on business needs, not shift preference.

Job Duties as a Stand Forklift Operator/Order Filler for Remedy Staffing:

• Selecting orders on a Cherry Picker OR replenishing product into locations using a Standup Reach Truck forklift
• Manual material handling - lifting boxes of product and stacking boxes
• Using an RF scanner to track product movement
• Reading order tickets, knowing location of product, correctly identifying product and selecting correct quantity
• Move at a steady, fast pace

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Previous Printing Press Operator Experience of 2 years or more.

• Follow all OSHA, FSSC, GMP, and company safety standards.
• Change material, plates, dies, substrates, anilox rollers, cylinders, or ink as required.
• Inspect print quality for proper ink coverage and density, alignment, registration, tension, and die cut per customer job ticket requirements.
• Perform basic maintenance using hand tools as needed.
• Annotate material quantities used, quality discrepancies, downtime, make-ready time, and run time in DCU.
• Clean press machine components as needed.
• Maintain clean workspace according to housekeeping standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement events as needed.
• Train new teammates as needed, upon being fully qualified.
