Pay: $17.50 -18.00 / hr

Shift: 2nd, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM

Location: North Syracuse

Job duties may include:

Responsible for assisting press operators with set-up, cleanup, job changes, and pre-stages

Ensure pressrooms are clean and maintained with necessary materials

Attend to paper staging areas when needed

Be attentive and receptive to supervisor, press operator and pre-stage training and feedback

Unloaded and loading materials from Machines

Inventory Management 

Knowledge of machines, tools, computers up to and including design, use, repairs, and maintenance

Ability to speak, write, and read English

Manual dexterity for cutting, grasping, guiding, pressing, pulling, pushing, rolling, typing, and turning

Excellent hand and eye coordination

Ability to identify issues and problems

Ability to decipher colors

Ability to understand mathematical applications (measurements, logic, etc)

Experience Required:

Printing and labeling and / or machine experience is preferred

This position is a pre-req for a press operator role meaning room for advancement!

Job duties may include:

The Tool Maker supports Armstrong Rapid Manufacturing’s overall production objectives by designing, fabricating, and maintaining specialized tools and fixtures used in manufacturing operations.

This role works from engineering drawings, CAD models, and sketches to create tooling for production use.

Responsibilities include interpreting specifications, laying out and preparing materials, setting up and operating manual machine tools, and fitting and assembling components.

The Tool Maker fabricates, repairs, and modifies metalworking tooling, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.

Some machining of secondary production operations is required.

The position requires performing complex toolmaking tasks with a high degree of precision and craftsmanship.

Uses precision measurement instruments like micrometers, height gauges, and calipers.

Experience required:

• Journeyman toolmaker with ten years of shop experience

Job Duties may include:

Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine for vertical and horizontal milling operations; maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety standards; record keeping; production output

Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, work order data from engineering, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters

Programs mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.

Maintains specifications by observing milling, grooving, and cutting; taking measurements; adjusting and reprogramming controls

Job requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of CNC machining experience in set-up, operation, and optimizing CNC vertical and horizontal machine centers
•  Strong understanding of CNC machining and programming principles
•  Ability to edit and write basic machining macros
•  Ability to read and interpret blueprints
•  Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
•  Ability to identify and troubleshoot machining problems
