The Transportation Router is responsible for utilizing routing software to monitor time delivery windows, route within DOT Hours of Service and recommend route improvements by considering traffic patterns, parking challenges and anticipating other factors impacting our ability to deliver within specified delivery windows.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Creates daily routes using both Target and Direct Route systems to maximize cost efficiency and ensure customer service levels meet or exceed expectations.

·         Sets up truck assignment sheets for next day shipment.

·         Communicates with the Sales and Customer Service departments concerning future order processing and customer window maintenance.

·         Receives invoice changes from drivers and reports changes to the Customer Service department.

·         Maintains iPads and driver GPS tracking software (Rand McNally) installed on devices and updates the program as needed (new hires, terminations, etc.).

·         Conducts continuous analysis of route, vehicle and driver assignments and reviews scheduling for possible consolidation or improvements

 

Requirements:

·         2 + years of transportation routing experience preferred

·         Knowledge of Target and Rand McNally systems preferred

·         Basic understanding of transportation safety guidelines, and DOT procedures related to routing is required

·         High School diploma or equivalent required
