Remedy Recruiting is seeking a Buyer in Norfolk, Virginia for a full time, in office position with a growing and innovative manufacturing company.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, service support and reliability, and negotiates the lowest prices for products

• Timely procurement of raw materials & subcontract services

• Timely job scheduling and release that support production capacity constraints and customer delivery expectations.

• Regular monitoring of open order status to identify potential delivery risks and recommend countermeasures

• Monitors short- and long-term material requirements needs, develops and implements effective plans to assure material availability

• Control flow of material from the supplier.

• Provides operations a production schedule that aligns with current capacity & material constraints.

• Monitors vendor quality levels and escalates as necessary to Quality if chronic delivery issues are identified.

• Develop, sharpen current strategies and execute new improved procurement strategies

• Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate.

• Coordinate deliveries

• Interface with Production & Planning Departments on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments. 

• Negotiate with vendors the best possible price and service guarantee

Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience in procurement or purchasing

• 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing

Education:

• High School Graduate

• Preferred Associates Degree with focus in Business disciplines

• Highly desired 4-year degree in Technical, Operations or Supply Chain Management
