SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting the continuous improvement processes associated with the manufacturing methods and processes. To develop solutions for production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling. Supports new products and programs by developing new processes, designing tooling and machinery, and developing production controls. Responsible for set-up of new equipment, ensures proper operation of the new equipment, and to teach others the proper use of this equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Designs tools and/or machines of varying types for use in the manufacture of company products.
- Redesigns, repairs, or replaces in-process production program equipment, production control hardware, and tooling.
- Develops processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new products and programs; supervises their assembly and proofing.
- Sets up, operation, and training on new equipment for employees.
- Writes procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment.
- Stays informed concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment and investigates their potential applications.
- Writes justifications for capital equipment expenditures as associated with Lexington based manufacturing improvements.
- Plans and sets up for process introduction of new products into the plant.
- Develops and performs time studies on manufacturing processes.
- Develops labor standards for new and existing products and processes.
