SUMMARY:  Operate, maintain and program Automated Conformal Coating equipment and curing ovens used in the assembly of Printed Circuit Boards as primary job responsibility.  Operate and maintain manual spray conformal coating equipment in spray booth.  Generally works from verbal instructions, written procedures, customer provided drawings and bills of material and/or training manuals supplied by the equipment manufacturer. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties will be assigned. 

Equipment Operator I: 

• Run manual & automated Conformal Coating machine(s) and curing oven(s) using provided programs and process documentation.
• Setup, verify program and operate equipment. 
• Cleaning of machine components such as sprayer and coating booth. 
• Ability to follow Process instructions for each product (MPI). 
• Requires extreme attention to detail to ensure all components are properly masked before spraying process is initiated. 
• Understanding of IPC-610 solder requirements for Class II work. 
• Ensure that conformal coating appears only in designated areas. 
• Demonstrates component identification knowledge and understands which components cannot be coated. 
• Basic knowledge of chemicals used in Conformal Coating area and proper storage/handling of such. 
• Follows all safety rules and uses all required safety equipment at all times.

Must be able to successfully complete all training required for the position and pass the associated exams with the required score.  Must be able to successfully complete annual training required of all employees to include (but not limited to) Safety, ESD, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, material handling and component ID. 

Must be able to accurately and completely record quality defect data.

Must be able to accurately and completely document time records and labor time reporting by Work Order, Assembly, Work Center and task as well as correct quantities completed.  No/minimal missed swipes and/or errors.

 Must be able to accurately and timely record shop floor movement in Manfact.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

Equipment Operator I:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must satisfactorily demonstrate required knowledge, understanding and operational performance of equipment and associated safety requirements.

COMPUTER SKILLS:    Equipment Operator I:  Ability to use/learn Conformal Coating and Curing Oven user interface software and load/verify programs used in daily operations.
