Remedy Recruiting is currently seeking a Survey Cad Technician for a client in the Charleston, SC area. You will assist the surveying team with their drafting Mapping efforts. You would be assisting with mapping and drafting responsibilities for Boundary Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Deed Research, Topographic Survey and Control Network Surveys.
Roles and responsibilities of this position include:
- Perform responsibilities under guidance and supervision of project management and the Professional Land Surveyor(s), and in accordance with State and Federal Minimum Standards
- Manage and process field data in AUTODESK Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center
- Research, interpret, and plot recorded deeds and plats
- Prepare various survey plats and exhibits utilizing research and field data, to include boundary, topographic, as built, and ALTA / NSPS surveys
- Review title commitments and prepare surveys per ALTA / NSPS requirements
- Perform calculations for field work to be completed accurately and efficiently
- Coordinate and communicate with managers and survey field personnel, as required
- Perform some field work or office travel, as required
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities required to perform duties within this position include:
- Read and interpret plats, deeds, easements, and construction plans
- Work in an office setting within various teams
- Operate cameras, phones, computers, software packages, etc.
- Learn technical and operational skills applicable to this position
- Work mostly under leadership, but also as a self-starter
- Sit or stand for long periods of time
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Communicate through various methods (i.e. – in person, call, text, email, etc.)
Qualifications and educational requirements for this position include:
- Associates Degree in Engineering or Computer Based Drafting degree (or equivalent); high school diploma (or equivalent) will be considered with adequate experience
- Proficiency in AUTODESK Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
- 2+ years of experience in land surveying CAD project work
- Reliable means of transportation to local office
- Must pass the required drug test prior to hire and as requested at any time throughout employment
- Must comply with all policies and procedures throughout employment
