Industrial Painter

Remedy Staffing is hiring an Industrial Painter for our client in the Waterloo area. The main responsibilities will be to apply paint, varnishes, and other coatings to a variety of materials and surfaces. Skilled painters with primarily skills in the manufacturing arena, painting structures, machinery, or industrial commodities are a plus.

Shift: 1st shift.

Pay: $17/hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean and Prepare Surfaces Must first prepare the surface they are going to paint. If there are previous finishes on the surface, they remove them using masking, grit blast or chemical rinse. Then, they clean and smooth the surface and let it dry before painting.

• Prepare Paints

• Apply Paint Painters use a variety of techniques and tools to paint surfaces. They may use spray equipment, airbrushes, stencils, rollers or brushes. Industrial painters must choose the best tool for the job at hand. They paint on primers, pre-finishes and finishing coats. Some Industrial Painters must use special safety equipment such as self-contained suits or protective eyewear.

• Clean Work Areas

• Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; trimming heads.

• Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.

• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.

• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Remedy Staffing is currently hiring for our client's finishing department who specializing in manufacturing tents and tarps. 

Shift/Hours: 1st shift. 7AM - 1:30PM

Pay: $15/hour

Job Duties:

The finishing department is responsible for the last step in our manufacturing process. They take completed projects, and measure them before folding or rolling the product, boxing it, and prepping it for shipping. They also install hardware, install fasteners, and other finishing jobs to complete orders. Lifting requirements of 50-60lbs, mostly done in a team setting. Same hours of operation as the rest of production. They also do finished goods inventory at the end of the fiscal year.

Job Description:

Qualified associates will be responsible for mounting tractor tires on rims in a factory setting. There may be instances of using a forklift to complete tasks.

Shift/Hours: 1st shift. 6 or 7AM - finished. Mondays and Fridays off.

Pay: $16/hour for the first 90 days. $17/hour after 90 days.
