Direct Hire Opportunity - Dietary Aide

Shift/Hours:  11:30am-7:30pm

Pay: $13.30 Plus .40 cents for each year of experience, up to 5 years!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Capable of regular and predictable attendance at a specified location

• Prepares food items on production sheet and other food items as requested

o Adheres to food production and usage schedules to avoids waste

o Reviews menu, estimates food requirements and procure food from storage

o Appropriately, immediately labels and stores food items/leftovers after use to ensure food safety

• Maintains sanitation of equipment, utensils, work storage and serving areas by cleaning immediately after use

• Responsible for utilization of proper cooking techniques and palatability of foods

• Cuts, trims and slices fruits, vegetables and meats to get appropriately sized pieces for cooking. Bakes breads, rolls, pies and pastries

• Identifies and corrects safety hazards in food service areas

• Assists in establishment and maintenance of supplies inventory and notifies Food Service Supervisor of shortages and discrepancies

• Comply with established policies/practices/standards for food preparation, sanitation, and completes required documentation

• Plates and Serve meals

• Assures resident's safety

• Other duties may be assigned

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two or more years of institutional cooking experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional work demeanor.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and common fractions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with staff, residents, and the general public
