Applications Engineer

Remedy Recruiting has partnered with a highly innovative New York based high-tech corporation with a hardware design research and development site. We are currently looking for an Applications Engineer to provide Technical Support of our Test and Measurement products (oscilloscopes and arbitrary waveform generators) to our customers and sales team.  You will collaborate with Customer Service and our Repair Service Team to insure seamless support and function as key liaison between Product Managers and Sales team and customers.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support via telephone, e-mail, customer visit, trade show, or training courses.
  • Understand and be able to discuss product specifications.
  • Work with customers and/or sales engineers in specifying the appropriate product and measurement technique.
  • Work hands on with electronics applications with an emphasis on measurements
  • Identify and highlight common technical problems.  Initiate corrective action process working with Marketing and/or Sales organization.
  • Learn and be able to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of competitive products.
  • Ability to interface with design engineering on resolving customer issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with a minor in Electrical Engineering
  • Must be able to work with customers and sales engineers in specifying appropriate product and measurement techniques.
  • Familiarity with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; Matlab, and VisualBasic or VisualC++ programming languages.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills required. Should be able to write, edit, and support application notes and presentations.
  • Have a deep-seated interest in electronics.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Training will be provided.
  • Occasional travel for training and/or customer visits.

Familiarity with the following is ideal but not required:

  • Knowledge of electronics applications and working knowledge of third party integration software such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI and similar programs.   
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, and VisualBasic or VisualC++ programming languages is essential.
  • Ability to integrate products into systems, including remote control via GPIB, USB, LAN or LXI.

We are currently looking for a FPGA / DIGITAL HARDWARE DESIGN ENGINEER responsible for designing verifying and debugging a wide range of digital designs.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

  • Design, implementation, and verification of complex logic circuits and systems used in test and measurement equipment for data acquisition, processing and display.
  • Document design and work closely with our software team.
  • Debug and validate design.
  • Provide technical support to the production tea

Qualifications 

  • MS Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent 
  • 3+ years of experience in FPGA logic design and general digital design.
  • Highly proficient in Verilog / System Verilog. VHDL knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as TCL, Perl, or Python.
  • Good knowledge of the FPGA design flow. Questa, Vivado/Quartus.
  • Understand timing constraints SDC/XDC. • Direct experience implementing full design from source to bitstream.
  • Debug experience using lab equipment like oscilloscopes, signal generators, protocol analyzers and FPGA debug tools (ILA).
  • Understanding of signal acquisition system (ADC, JESD204, memory interface)
  • Experience with PCie Express protocol.
  • Knowledge of JESD204B/C protocol.
  • Experience with industry-standard protocols (USB2/3, SPI/QSPI, I2C etc.) are pluses
  • Knowledge of high speed design both from a logic and signal integrity standpoint is a plus

  • Ensure all raw and packaging materials according to the Bill of Materials are on the line prior to beginning production. 
  • Communicates with other line personnel regarding production needs/expectations.
  • Ensures Supervisor/Team Lead is aware of any deviations and mechanical issues.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate the processing of orders that are picked
  • Verify backorders with Production and Materials Department
  • Verify Lot Numbers and Quantity on Pick Ticket matches Lot Number and Quantity on product picked for shipment.
  • Enter appropriate information (Lot No and Quantity) in the MRP system.
  • Scan and process orders for shipping
  • Close out orders in WMS to prep for confirm shipping
  • Ensure to print and place all labels on scanned cartons
  • Wrap and weigh orders 
  • Ensure to adhere company standards in reference to shipping procedures

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Experience in a shipping department
  • Excellent communication, organization, analytical and planning skills
  • High level attention to detail
  • Experience using Macola, or other MRP systems considered a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – team player
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment
  • Comfortable working in manufacturing plant and office environments
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 LBS
