Local company seeking an Accountant!

Job Duties:

  • Maintains accounting system relative to general ledger, owners' receivable accounts, financial statements and accounting processes
  • Maintains accounting records in computer files and hard copy files
  • Collects, verifies, executes, and records transactions utilizing documents
  • Summarizes transactions and enters data into the general ledger
  • Validates the general ledger to the financial statements
  • Reconciles general ledger balances to bank statements, supporting schedules, accounting journals, and other documents/statements
  • Prepares and reviews financial reports
  • Performs bank reconciliation for each and all financial institution accounts
  • Prepares, validates and executes on monthly billing statements and other periodic billing statements
  • Collects, verifies and processes utility data and other charges for billing
  • Reviews reports and records for accuracy based on application form
  • Reviews and ensures late fees, interest penalties, legal chargeback fees and other fees have been properly assessed
  • Monitors accounts to ensure refunds, adjustments, and legal codes are up to date and proper
  • Reviews, validates and reconciles accounts receivable transactions and balances to the general ledger
  • Assists with invoices and payroll
  • Prepares and validates delinquency letters and mails or faxes to appropriate party  
  • Collects estimated income tax payment schedules and executes on payments
  • Prepares and files state general excise tax returns and executes on tax payments
  • Reviews accounting records to identify real property tax expenses and ensures bills are paid on time
  • Accounts for and executes on lease rent collections and disbursements
  • Collects and inputs annual budgets and any revised budgets
  • Assists external auditor during annual audits and cash audits
  • Reports errors and omissions to immediate supervisor for resolution or guidance
  • Assist in internal audits and research of procedures, software and hardware
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
  • 3-5+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • High attention to detail and strong communication skills
  • Self-starter who is able to manage multiple priorities

Pay: $50,000
