Local company seeking a Payroll Manager!

Job Duties:

  • Maintains payroll information by creating systems
  • Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of income and wages
  • Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests
  • Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures
  • Studies new and existing legislation to comply with requirements
  • Directs the collection, calculation, and entering of data
  • Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
  • Schedules/assigns employees and follows up on work results
  • Assists in recruiting and training employees
  • Counsels and disciplines employees; plans, monitors, and appraises job results
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and establishing personal networks
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or accounting preferred
  • 3-5+ years of related experience (must have previous supervisory experience)
  • Must have knowledge of compensation and wage structure, benefits administration, and worker compensation
  • Previous experience in accounting a plus
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Pay: $60-$70K, depending on experience
