Local company seeking a HR Manager!

Job Duties:

  • Manages the HR department by overseeing day-to-day activities to ensure compliance
  • Works closely with managers on performance management including proper disciplinary actions
  • Provides recommendations for updates to the company employee handbook and policies
  • Ensures policies comply with federal and state law
  • Assists managers with workforce needs including promotions and succession planning
  • Serves as a witness or mediator between management and staff to ascertain human relations and work-related problems
  • Administers employee surveys to provide appropriate engagement activities through company events and programs
  • Conducts wage reviews using surveys and develops recommendations
  • Prepares recommendations for benefits offerings and partners with benefits vendors for open enrollment renewals
  • Reviews all leave requests and determines applicable leave qualifications
  • Keeps abreast of all changes to Federal and State employment and payroll laws.
  • Advises and assists management in handling problems of discriminatory work practices in their departments
  • Communicates best practices relating to employment and labor policies
  • Supports safety program including claims management, light duty placement, and collection of required forms
  • Oversees payroll and benefits processing
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience
  • HR Certification preferred
  • 5+ years of HR experience with at least two years in a managerial capacity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and juggle different priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Pay: $80,000 -$90,000, depending on experience
