This position will lead, coordinate, plan, and provide curriculum to community partners on how to effectively and successfully educate healthcare workers on infection prevention and control.

Job Duties:

  • Provide overall coordination and implementation of CDC’s new project initiative
  • Create and distribute assessment and gather information electronically from individuals regarding training needs
  • Use CDC toolkit to develop a program with selected target groups
  • Create presentations that can be presented both in-person and virtually
  • Promote awareness through advertising and/or marketing of project to community partners
  • Identify and specify target facilities that will participate in project
  • Use assessment to identify training and logistical needs of frontline healthcare personnel, any challenges in providing data on infection control, and opportunities to connect health care facilities with each other
  • Review training materials, guidance, tools and other public health workforce-oriented materials
  • Review CDC materials and develop/adjust programs and curriculum to ensure they are culturally appropriate and translated to local languages
  • Establish multi-level training programs and use to educate facility supervisors
  • Present CDC trainings and facilitate collection of required performance measures
  • Conduct evaluation of curriculum and overall educational program throughout program period
  • Collaborate with regulatory partners to understand current credentialing process
  • Serve as a subject matter expert providing ongoing guidance, programmatic support and technical assistance/expertise
  • Enter performance measures into database on a quarterly basis
  • Share best practices identified and provide national coordination of activities
  • Promote awareness and facilitate uptake of training
  • Provide a final evaluation report of the impact and reach of project training sessions


  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Medicine or related field of study or Master’s degree in Public Health. Preference will be given to RN or BSN with Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
  • 2-4+ years of experience in developing and implementing programs
  • Strong understanding of and familiarity with tenets of infection control including infection prevention practices
  • Familiarity with programmatic concepts and models for decreasing Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI)
  • Familiarity with a variety of healthcare settings including dialysis and ventilator units
  • Previous experience in gathering, evaluating and analyzing infection control data required to resolve problems and/or to implement public health or infection control interventions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office

Pay: $90,000-$130,000, depending on experience
