This position will represent the State and will coordinate, track, review, and provide updates for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) grant ELC Reopening Schools: Support for Screening Testing to Reopen & Keep Schools Operating Safely to ensure appropriate progress is made towards meeting grant deliverables. Position will develop and implement a structure to track milestones and progress towards completion of milestones and performance measures involving complex stakeholders (clinical laboratories, Department of Education, Hawaii Association of Independent Schools (HAIS), Federally Qualified Health Centers, Hawaii Department of Health, Pharmacies, etc.).

This position will put together a team to support the above-mentioned grant and provide operational and fiscal oversight, to support the objectives of this cooperative agreement. In addition, you will review contracts and monthly spending with ELC fiscal analysts and the ELC grant manager, meet with program and project points to ensure progress towards completion of milestones, and troubleshoot related budgetary, contract, and personnel needs.

Three (3) required overarching activities that are designed to meet the immediate needs to safely reopen schools and the ongoing efforts to keep schools operating safely are:

Activity 1: Rapid deployment of screening testing resources

Activity 2: Development of K-12 screening testing implementation plan

Activity 3: Implementation screening testing action plan

Duties to include, but not limited to:

  • Coordinate, track and review progress of program towards deliverables
  • Coordinate between various State and Federal departments to provided data
  • Manage team of employees to provide operational and fiscal oversight
  • Review contracts and monthly spending
  • Work with team leads to ensure progress of project and track timelines
  • Manage any budgetary and personnel needs
  • Will represent department in various meetings

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of management experience in a public or private clinical or public health organization
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience with Hawaii Department of Education preferred

Local insurance company, in the Downtown Honolulu area, seeking an Insurance Assistant to support in the Underwriting Department.

Job Duties:

  • Review applications, endorsements, and general documents in a timely manner 
  • Analyzes negative trends and develops action plans
  • Ensure that the appropriate documentation is generated for the retention of accounts
  • Verify accurate data entry into the system
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred - credit in accounting, business, finance or insurance related subjects preferred
  • 2+ years of commercial lines property and casualty or related experience using commercial lines
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Must be comfortable meeting strict deadlines
  • Must have excellent communication skills and a positive attitude

Pay: $16 per hour
