Reputable local restaurant looking for a Kitchen Manager!

Job Duties:

  • Provides professional leadership and direction to kitchen personnel
  • Plan, direct, or supervise the food preparation or cooking activities of multiple kitchens or restaurants
  • Coordinate planning, budgeting, or purchasing for all the food operations
  • Ensures that food preparation and presentation meets R&D specifications
  • Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate cleaning schedules for kitchen and food storage areas
  • Check the quality of raw or cooked food products to ensure that standards are met
  • Check and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points
  • Estimate amounts of costs of required supplies
  • Control food costs and usage by following proper FIFO of products
  • Instruct cooks or other workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, or preparation of food
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s standard
  • Order food, equipment, or work areas to ensure conformance to established standards
  • Ensure that all products are ordered according to predetermined products specifications and received correctly
  • Check the quantity and quality of received products
  • Oversee the continuous training of kitchen employees on proper kitchen practices
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques or equipment to staff
  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms and schedules in an organized and timely manner

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in varied kitchen positions with progressive leadership and management responsibilities
  • At least 6 months experience in a similar managerial capacity
  • Must speak English fluently and be able to communicate needs in language and understanding
  • Travel may be required for occasional deliveries, visits to other locations, or company meetings
  • Understanding of proper use and maintenance of major kitchen equipment and awareness of local, state and federal health and sanitation laws
  • Must be able stand for up to 9 hours at a time and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must pass drug screening test

Pay: $70,000-$80,000, depending on experience
