Job Description:

We are seeking an industrial plant maintenance technician for our lubricants and animal feed manufacturing plant in Portsmouth, VA. 
Best hours in the manufacturing industry, Monday - Friday 8-4:30 no weekends, no "on call" duty.  We've never had a layoff, great hours and benefits. 

A person with on-board commercial ship maintenance would have the experience for this position.
A merchant marine engineer would have the experience needed.
Ideal credentials are experience with:

• Industrial plant equipment including compressors, pumps and gear boxes
• Machinery preventive maintenance and repair
• Electrical experience required, specifically "controls"
• Steam plant management and maintenance
• Pump repair
• Air compressor servicing and repair
• Maintain and augment plant steel and stainless tell piping systems, ie pipe welding, cutting, threading,
• Fabrication skills
• outside machinist skill
• Outside of the box thinking about how to fix equipment
• Commercial HVAC & refrigeration experience a "plus"
• work with other maintenance staff, which includes pipe fitters, welders, inside machinist, handyman and electrician

Min 8-10 years experience. Salary range dependent on experience.

Reach Truck Operator Responsibilities:

• Operating a stand-up reach-lift to replenish product into active locations or put product away into reserve locations from the receiving dock
• Manual material handling: lifting boxes may be necessary as well as removing empty pallets from active locations
• RF scanner used to track product movement in the inventory management system
• Attention to detail is key in order to identify correct location of product
• Must be able to keep track of work pace in order to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner- production tracked via labor management system
