Remedy Professional Placement is seeking a Manufacturing Production Lead for our Client in Norfolk, VA. The Production Lead is primarily responsible for leading the team to achieve production targets on daily basis and goals/objectives on long range basis within the company.  The Lead is responsible for maintaining and improving productivity through all product lines, e.g. manufacturing, kitting, sterilization, etc.. The Lead also ensures the smooth running of all production lines and meeting high quality standards that are the hallmark of the company.


Work in support of the Production Manager by:

  • Managing production planning processes to ensure meeting production targets in a planned and in highly predictable manner
  • Providing reports on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Ensuring production capacity is optimized
  • Monitoring and reporting on project and production resource requirements
  • Advising on yearly production budgets
  • Analyzing and reporting on production timelines and capacity utilization trends
  • Ensuring Quality Targets are met


Lead the Production Departments by:

  • Provide positive, company-centric motivation and support to all employees
  • Creating, communicating, and holding accountable the following to supervisors:
  • Ensuring the production staff are properly trained
  • Setting yearly goals and driving production efficiencies and improvements for time and cost savings
  • Writing and or ensuring SOPs, Work Instructions, Forms and other Quality Management Systems documents are sufficient and adequate for production staff
  • Ensuring compliance by the production employees to the company’s quality standards and policies
  • Setting yearly goals and driving production efficiencies and improvements for time and cost savings

Work in support of Finance by:

  • Understanding and adhering to yearly budgets
  • Advising on production based budgetary issues

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in operations management or relevant field of study
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience with manufacturing firm
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and support other departments
  • Solid company-centric ideology
  • Orientation to extreme detail and capability of articulating cause and effect with data to support
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills
  • Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities
  • Understanding of how job performance effects product quality and customer satisfaction

Preferred Requirements:

  • Masters Degree  in Operations Management or relevant field of study
  • Certified LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt
