Position Summary:

Under general supervision of the Louisville Shipping Supervisor, processes orders for courier pick up.  This position will also often physically pull and pack outbound materials, segregate materials by commodity, then process the orders in the ERP system. Distribute individual packages via small package carriers, as well as bulk shipments via freight carriers, by creating shipment labels, and learn how to properly create supporting documentation where necessary.  Maintains a clean and safe work environment. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Ships products following appropriate shipping methods and processes utilizing UPS and FedEx software systems
• Prevents inventory issues by accurately pulling the correct quantities and serial numbers, as requested per the orders
• Verifies item numbers of picked stock and quality, complete transactions to ship product, process paperwork and complete all necessary transactions according to established procedures

• Packages freight appropriately for shipment with proper protection to prevent damage and do so in a timely manner
• Supports other departments.

• Understands the importance of established processes, and the impact from deviation

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of shipping, and receiving functions, (SAP knowledge preferred, but not required)
• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (65 lbs with team lift)
• Capacity to stand or walk 6-8 hours/day
• Must read and follow written work instructions
• Basic computer skills required to work in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet
• Once trained, must have good understanding of MRP system and able to process orders with no supervision
