Chemist / Buffalo, NY/ 1st Shift

 

An experienced Chemist with 5 years of HPLC and GC experience is needed for a leading and rapidly Buffalo, NY Manufacturer that has been rated a WNY Best Places to Work!

 

Shift:

  • 1st Shift Monday – Friday  10:00am-6:30pm

 

Chemist Responsibilities:

  • Determining percentages of various components as required by specifications
  • Performing simple identification of various chemicals or formulations as per methodology USP/NF and other test requirements
  • Ensuring  all results are neatly and accurately recorded in appropriate laboratory logs or other designated forms
  • Providing support for purchasing analytical supplies
  • Preparing solutions and titrants when required
  • Cleaning laboratory work related area
  • Preparing and maintaining laboratory test solutions
  • Coordinating release of liquid batches including designation of reassay/expiration date
  • Sampling raw materials when needed
  • Testing raw materials, batches, and finished products in a timely manner
  • Performing review of laboratory notebooks for accuracy and completeness
  • Basic understanding of the requirements of the USP and GMP requirements as applied to the testing of pharmaceuticals.
  • Performing routine maintenance activities in the laboratory and participates in the qualification and periodic calibration or verification of equipment
  • Performing chemical testing as needed using TMs, SOPs, and as per methodology USP/NF and other test requirements on raw materials, bulk liquids, and finished products. The testing may include but is not limited to: HPLC/GC, IR, UV, wet chemistry Auto-titrator, etc.) for raw materials, bulk liquids, and finished products

 

Chemist Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or other related science
  • 5 years of HPLC and GC experience HIGHLY preferred!
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience testing pharmaceutical products in a GMP regulated QC laboratory is desirable
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to perform work accurately and be able to follow test methodology
  • Must be able to perform well under pressure and work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to delegate the required testing to competent and trained chemists
  • Demonstrate ability to perform work accurately and be able to follow test methodology
  • Must be able to read and comprehend methods and other instructional documents such as SOPs
  • Knowledge of Analytical techniques and able to incorporate them into daily tasks
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to perform work accurately and be able to follow test methodology
  • Must be able to well under pressure and work with minimum supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills that support working in a team environment
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
