Performs data entry and processing of biological indicator spore strip tests in a high-volume culture lab. Primarily serving the dental industry, B.I. spore strip tests are used in autoclave performance testing for sterility assurance

  Follows laboratory procedure for testing samples: o

• Sorts and labels the test envelopes
• Performs data entry
• Aseptically transfers spore strips into test tubes
• Operates fill machines and ensures proper media fill into tubes o Follows SOPs to ensure appropriate incubation protocol
• Removes samples from incubators and visually examines for bacterial growth
• Routine cleaning of laboratory glassware and equipment 

Performs all other assigned duties including but not limited to: 

• Counting and opening test envelopes
• Cleaning of laboratory and office areas 
• Restock supplies in laboratory and office areas 
• Scan and archive completed test envelopes 
• Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results GENERAL JOB EXPECTATIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS 

• High School diploma or equivalent required 
• One year of laboratory experience preferred 
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal 
• Must be able to read and understand all SOP's pertaining to their department
• Basic computer skills including 10-key

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Routinely sanitize work surfaces with sodium hypochlorite solution
