Operates power looms equipped with rollers and shuttles adapted for bobbins or cops to weave twisted coir, sisal, or paper yarns to produce items, for example mesh, scrim, and fiber rugs, according to specified color, type, pattern, and size: Positions shuttles and inspects looms for broken strands.

Job Requirements

  • To operate the loom in line with training to ensure correct procedures are adhered to ie, quality requirements
  • Ability to ensure measurements, calculations, and material are correct

  • 1 to 2 years consistent weaving experience (textile setting preferred)
  • Set up and operate textile machines that handle textile manufacturing and processing tasks such as knitting, winding, twisting, bonding, weaving or stretching.
  • Have control precision, finger and manual dexterity and arm-hand steadiness
  • Ability to monitor equipment operations and perform quality control tests and inspections
  • Critical-thinking and complex problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and time-management skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently 
  • Flexibility in hours is a MUST - schedule does change according to production needs
