Maintenance Supervisor

 

The maintenance supervisor is a professional who thinks critically and communicates well to ensure all maintenance employees on the team are working together effectively to improve the efficiency of the operation and company in general.

 

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Build, maintains and oversee daily, weekly, monthly or annual preventive maintenance schedules (PM’s). Inspect facilities with maintenance leads to determine problems and schedule necessary maintenance of all systems (production equipment, mechanical, heating, ventilation etc.) Allocate work to maintenance personal as needed
  • Support the developing of a maintenance budget in conjecture with management to align expenses and avoid unnecessary cost
  • Responsible for publishing operational reports to be reviewed in daily meetings with management. Be prepared to discuss any equipment issues that will impact the daily operations and have alternatives to avoid any delays
  • Assist with achieving daily standards in accordance with published service levels by ensuring all warehouse equipment is operational
  • Recruit, supervise, monitor performance of technicians. Preforms documented employee reviews for all full time departmental employees. Provides ongoing training and retraining of employees to ensure that they are prepared to meet or exceed the productivity standards set forth for their assigned duties
  • Hire and supervise tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.) and coordination of projects (e.g.renovations)
  • Enforces, maintains safety standards, policies, and procedures in order to comply with the laws and regulations to minimize accidents and injuries. Assists in the ongoing company safetyprograms
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area and follow all company policies andprocedures
  • At least 2-years MHE experience using warehouse distribution equipment, i.e. operate forklift, tall stock picker and stock picker in a safe and efficientmanner
  • Ability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the company

 

 

 

Skills and Key Competencies:

 

  • High school diploma or GED, degree from a vocational school will be a plus. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role and minimum 2 years in managerial or leadership position
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills. Highly proficient with computers and software, to include MS office, ERP and Maintenance Management Software(MMS)
  • Strong attention to detail, leadership abilities, interpersonal, communication, verbal, written and
  • Initiative, adaptability, behave decisively, display patience, self-confidence and stress tolerance
  • Demonstrategoodjudgmentandensurethathealthandsafetyguidelinesarefollowed
  • Ability to operate in a systematic, logical manner and be multitask
