The function of the Facility and Maintenance Technician is to coordinate and/or perform necessary repairs and preventive maintenance of facility, property and equipment, as well as ensure that OSHA requirements are maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines/equipment continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate.
*Responsible to maintain records of repair and maintenance for the building, property and company equipment. Follow established schedule.
*Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and referencing blueprints, repair manuals or part catalogs, as necessary.
*Responsible ensure that calibration schedules are met and records maintained
*Responsible to plan and/or assist in facilities repairs and maintenance projects.
*Directly responsible for maintaining a preventive maintenance program within the confines of an annual budget. This includes all heating, air conditioning, as well as maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment.
*Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
*Respond to urgent maintenance calls and maintain plan for fire evacuation and disaster response. Serves as facility Emergency Response Coordinator.
*Assist in ensuring that OSHA Training Records are maintained
*Conduct required OSHA and Safety training for new and existing employees and coordinate environmental health and safety program.
*Responsible to maintain OSHA compliance
*Schedule yearly OSHA walk through
*Adhere to all company policies and procedures inclusive of safety guidelines.
*All other duties as required
Knowledge / Skills/ Abilities:
*Strong communication and comprehension skills
*Must be able to interpret and apply blueprints, specifications and technical manuals.
*Skills in inspecting or performing quality control for projects.
*Detailed oriented with ability to plan, organize, and set priorities in order to meet deadlines
*Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors.
*Must be able to plan projects including schedules and technical specifications.
*Must be able to provide solutions in situations when limited information is available
*Must be able to assess information given and carry out assignments in a cost-effective expeditious manner
