Now hiring Fiber Optic Assembly Technician - $16 per hour

This position is responsible for the assembly of complex fiber optic and hybrid optical connectors according to procedures and drawings to meet the customer’s specification. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Responsible for maintaining high quality standards and workmanship
  • Reports errors on procedures, drawings, bills of material, and routers to the support teams (Quality, Manufacturing Engineering).
  • Responsible for completing documentation (shop packs) accurate and timely
  • Responsible for entering data into the IFS system accurate and timely
  • Maintain excellent communication and working relationship with all departments within the company
  • Communicating special tooling needed to perform operation that may have not been identified
  • Keeps an eye open for continuous improvements
  • Assemble components per drawings and procedures
  • Become proficient and certified in soldering, manifold builds and optical connector builds
  • Perform fiber optic splicing and testing using various optical test equipment (fusion splicer, high tension splicer, JGR)

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two-year technical degree preferred
  • Recent experience in an fiber optic or electronics manufacturing environment

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work with changing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers
  • Knowledge of MS Office to include Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
  • Ability to read and understand various measuring devices (Tape Measure, Calipers, Scales)
  • Able to read technical drawings and schematics, specifications and procedures
  • Ability to take constructive criticism from peers, leads and / or managers
  • Good math skills
