Description

Looking for an experienced Technical Support Engineer on a first shift with a local Rochester company!

Provide technical expertise directly to customers in support of high-speed networks, data centers and complex systems.

Answer customer questions, diagnose problems, understand requirements and devise solutions while providing excellent customer service.

Provide on-site technical expertise and demonstrations upon request.

Provide field input to Product Management in terms of customer/application requirements, customer usability and service viewpoint

 

 

Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in relevant field
  • 5 years of experience in hands-on datacenter support
  • 3 years supporting customers with technical issues
  • Strong technical knowledge in datacenters and networking- ethernet, routers and switches, servers, SNMP, fiber optics, etc.
  • Experience with wireless communication systems- receivers, transmitters, RF propagation, modulation, etc.
  • Knowledge of software systems, Linux, Windows, Python, version control and testing
  • Ability to diffuse and persuade people during difficult circumstances
  • Networking Certifications strongly preferred: CCNA, CCNP, CWNP, CWNA, CWNE
