REPORTS TO: Corporate Purchasing Manager

 

SCOPE: The purchasing assistant will assist the Corporate Purchasing Manager with inventory level management, purchasing needs, vendor relationships, data entry, filing, and organization for the department.  The purchasing assistant will support all locations of Tulip Richardson Manufacturing.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitoring inventory levels and identify purchasing needs
  • Negotiating pricing and resolve issues with suppliers
  • Verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders
  • Confirming receipt of items to Specification(s) and authorize payments
  • Conducting market research to identify pricing trends, prepare cost analyses
  • Updating & maintaining internal databases
  • Data entry, filing, and maintaining organization for department
  • Task completion/follow-up for departmental activities

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Buyer, Purchasing Officer, or similar role is a plus
  • Able to build a good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Experience with MS Outlook, and MS Excel required, experience with ERP/purchasing software is a plus
  • ISO 9001:2015 experience is a plus
