Legal Assistant / Administrator

We are in search of an experienced Legal Assistant / Administrator for a possible temp to hire position in the Risk Department - Down Town Fort Myers. This individual will assist a four-person team as the primary Administrator / Office Legal Assistant. While experience as a Legal Assistant is preferred, applicants with a strong upper level administrative background and some legal or risk management experience will be considered. This is a hybrid position whereas, the individual will assist the office as an Office Legal Assistant / Administrator with some of the below referenced duties:

  • Handle incoming mail.
  • Perform file reviews when requested.
  • Coordinate and set hearings, depositions, mediation, and draft pleadings.
  • Review medical records and draft medical summaries.
  • Performs legal research as needed.
  • Maintain master calendar.
  • Maintain trial calendar.
  • Prepare exhibits for trial.
  • Schedule witnesses.
  • Handle assignments of special projects and research.
  • Reconcile monthly expenditures as needed;
  • Prepare travel forms for submission with guidance from Legal Administrator
  • Responsible for providing assistance in the absence of department staff members.
  • Other administrative duties as needed.
