Position Overview

The Quality Inspectors roll is primarily responsible for reviewing outgoing quality and some line support for quality related questions, as well as monitoring incoming inspection of raw material. The inspectors mainly interface with manufacturing employees and line leads on current quality issues.

 

They are responsible for monitoring parts, materials, and products received from suppliers (internal and external) or production personal to identify conformance to established company standards. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience in inspection/fabrication of bare printed circuits and/or inspection/assembly of electronic products.

 

Quality Inspector II Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical and/or electrical inspection utilizing standard documentation, procedures and precision measuring devices to support receiving and final inspection
  • Accept/reject for conformance to standards and specifications
  • Verify compliance to applicable standards and other approved documentation 
  • Inspection of piece parts and/or complete assemblies 
  • Maintain files and records as required
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with internal customers 
  • Train new QA inspectors, as needed
  • Perform QA data collection and data entry into production MRP/MES software systems
  • Maintain nonconforming material in the MRB area and process the material per documented instructions
  • Ability to interpret and understand PCB/PCBA workmanship standards and component identification (IPC-600, 610)
  • Clear and concise written communication (i.e. emails, documentation, quality records, reports, etc.)
  • Working both independently and in a team environment
  • Prioritize work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management
  • Possess a team building attitude  
  • In-process auditing support
  • Processing and approving first article inspections (NPI’s, Delta’s and manufacturing FAI’s)
  • Additional Responsibilities may include:
    • Ability to use various measuring tools, such as micrometers, height gauge, rulers, gauges, dial and digital calipers
    • Ability to use XRF and optical measuring equipment

 

Position Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate required
  • Minimum of 4 years of prior experience in fabrication of bare circuit boards or assembly of electronic products
  • Must be able to read & interpret technical design documentation, BOMs and wire diagrams
  • IPC 600, 610, 620 Certification preferred
  • J-STD-00, ASQ-I, ASQ-T Certification preferred
  • Extensive knowledge in the manufacture and quality control of electronic and electromechanical parts, assemblies and finished products

 

 

Computer Skills:

  • Intermediate Microsoft Word skills as evidenced by the ability to perform all of the basic functions as well as create moderately complex documents containing tables and graphs, and ability to mail merge documents, apply page setup functions (margins, page numbers, footers, headers), create an index and/or table of contents, use search & replace, print labels and envelopes.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills as evidenced by the ability to perform all of the basic functions as well as the ability to use workbooks, link data, create and edit charts, change page orientation, add headers and footers, filter and sort lists, format data, insert rows, enter and sort data and produce graphs and charts.
  • Familiarity with internet usage of search engines to find component datasheets for verification of components during First Article Inspection.
