Summer Recreation Attendant                     Salary Range:$11.50

 

JOB SUMMARY

We are currently actively seeking creative, energetic, and enthusiastic professionals for a temporary support staff roll at a local summer camp. Recreation Attendants will be responsible for assisting in the administration, scheduling, and operation of multiple Summer Program facilities.  Responsibilities may include but are not limited to, monitoring of participants, providing instruction to participants, daily reporting, excellent communication skills, processing of registrations, miscellaneous daily paper work, general clean up.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist with onsite sports programs including but not limited to, set up and take down of sporting equipment.

  • Monitor facility usage, open and closing responsibilities, and minor maintenance.
  • Provide information and instruction to clients with respect to buildings, facilities, and programs.
  • Count attendance and prepare incident reports.
  • This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the employee’s physical presence at the workplace.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Monitor children in an after-school program or no school environment

Prepare and serve food at concessions

  • Monitor attendance at games and tournaments; prepare incident reports; provide assistance where needed.
  • Provide information and instruction to clients with respect to athletic fields and programs

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

May be a student currently enrolled in high school in pursuit of a high school diploma. Six (6) months related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma/GED preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Skill to make sound judgment.
  • Skilled to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Able to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
  • Ability to operate necessary equipment including but not limited to sporting equipment, computer, telephone, facsimile machine and copier.
  • Ability to work in heat, humidity, wetness, and around noise.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must obtain CPR, AED and First Aid Training Certification within twelve months of hire date.

When assigned to working with Youth, must meet the Department of Children and Families (DCF) requirements and inspections (Level 2 Background screaming with fingerprint and photo required by the State of Florida)
