The incumbent in this position assists the registered pharmacists in the performance of their legal responsibilities and authority as outlined in the Florida Pharmacy Law, (Chapter 465, and Florida Statutes).  The incumbent must obtain a pharmacy technician certification. The incumbent performs services related to providing patients with medications.  The incumbent in this position completes work assignments and responsibilities in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Job Requirements

Responsible for collecting, reviewing, and performing data entry of prescription orders for client medications orders for; patient medical profiles (including allergy/drug interactions) complete client information and prescriber's address and phone number.  Requisitions Central Pharmacy product orders; ensures lot number and expiration dates of product prior to receipt.  Assists the pharmacist with prescription and product labeling; provides patient medication inserts; processes paperwork and preparations of the CHD's product shipments; may assist with client enrollment in the specific programs for medications and performs daily computer back up. Assist in the Nurse Issuance and Repack Programs as needed. 

Assists with the monthly physical inventory; maintaining the programs' filing systems; preparation and maintenance of spreadsheets and correspondence for product utilization to determine turnaround time of order received vs. shipped and assists with generating data and statistics for the department programs activities. 

Assists with updating and maintaining CHD programs contacts phone list and mailing addresses; Responsible for maintaining a residential delivery program and file system; maintains program log books and filing system; active participation in the Central Pharmacy's Continuous Quality Improvement. 

Responsible for receiving and monitoring incoming drugs and pharmaceutical supply requisitions.

Performs other related duties and responsibilities as needed or required.
