Forklift Driver - 1st Shift

Essential Functions Operate a forklift to deliver requested material to production Use RF Scanner to scan material to appropriate locations Aide production with loading and unloading machines Organize all production material and inventory Verify all items are scanned to their current location and quantities are accurate Restock material in floor and rack locations Distribute material/inventory using the first in-first out method Coordinate with warehouse manager or team lead in ordering of material and totes as needed by production Gather approved finished goods and deliver them to the dock area Assist production in distribution of totes or pallets as needed, communicating with shipping/receiving department as to status of materials/inventory staged in the dock area Use the IOH (inventory on hand) checklist, ensure that all necessary inventory is available for production use and coordinate the ordering of material/inventory with the supervisor Complete daily log sheets Maintain all aspects of forklift safety Communicate maintenance needs or damage to supervisor immediately Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements


The Forklift Operator is responsible for the accurate receiving, storing, and shipping of products to meet company standards of safety, productivity, and quality. This includes the operation of basic forklifts in the handling of products. Must be available to work scheduled hours to meet customer needs.


  1. Load and unload freight in an efficient and safe manner, recording all necessary paperwork.
  2. Keep all palletizer out-feed conveyors clear of product in a timely manner to prevent any stoppage in converting.
  3. Transport product to storage areas using proper equipment and efficiently stack and store product.
  4. Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing and other miscellaneous tasks as needed.
  5. Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
  6. Check product for accuracy in inventory, damage and infestation and complete paperwork.
  7. Assist in maintaining the security of the facility.
  8. Conduct operations and model behavior that promotes a safe environment. This would include looking in the direction of travel, wearing a seat belt, driving at an appropriate speed, and appropriate use of the horn as examples.
  9. Sweep and clean area, including trailers, as needed.
  10. Abide by all company rules and policies in regards to conduct and safety.
  11. Must have the ability to turn head to look in the direction of travel. Must have the ability to look up. Must have the ability to wear the seat belt during operation per OSHA regulation.
  12. Demonstrate a 3 point stance mount and dismount at all times when getting on and off the forklift.
  13. Utilize RF scanners and the Warehouse Management System
