Remedy Intelligent Staffing is hiring "Supervisor of Transportation" for client located in Warminster, PA


Basic Function:

Transportation consists of determining cost-effective means of transporting various types of products and equipment considering the delivery requirements. It also includes analyzing routes and means of transportation, negotiating fees, coordinating with other related groups, making overall arrangements and obtaining approvals from authorities, as applicable.

Supervise a group or groups engaged in a variety of relatively complex supply management and transportation activities. Ensure compliance with the Company's quality standards and business requirements. Develop and implement measures to improve operations and customer relations.

Typical duties/responsibilities for supply management and transportation may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Plan and establish work schedules and manage a staff engaged in supply management and transportation activities. Monitor activities, anticipate and recognize potential problems and initiate measures to eliminate or reduce their impact. Initiate measures to ensure compliance with agreements and customer satisfaction.

Monitor and analyze performance of vendors, suppliers and transportation providers and evaluate their capability to meet quality and schedule meet commitments. Prepare reports and make recommendations regarding continuing the association or engaging other sources. 

Assist external organizations in understanding and meeting contractual requirements, and provide technical advice and recommendations regarding such factors as new technologies, processes or procedures, and more stringent requirements.

Represent group at meetings and contribute to such matters as resolving sourcing problems and developing transportation strategies. Provide guidance and training to staff, manage and document employee performance and develop associated recommendations.
Complexity of Tasks: Requires knowledge and application of commercial terms, contract law, supply management and transportation issues and related Company policies. Interfacing with other groups, managing and coordinating activities, influencing procurement decisions, and ensuring contract compliance require strong communication and leadership skills. Errors typically result in loss of time and rework, and may impact customer relations.


Bachelor's Degree in business or related field plus 5 to 8 years of experience, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
