Summary:

 

The Shipping Clerk-II ensures that the routine daily functions of their area of responsibility within the warehouse are completed accurately and timely. Reviews the daily work load and collaborates with the Shipping Lead to plan out the day.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Must be able to perform various functions of a highly repetitive nature while maintaining concentration of task.
  • Must comply with all company policies, safety regulations, OSHA, DEA and FDA regulations.
  • This position has major impact in insuring compliance with FDA, DEA, OSHA and DOT, RCRA, IATA regulations, as well as major impact on customer service levels and inventory accuracy.
  • Must be able accurately maintain all inventory records of issues of materials
  • Must be able to operate pallet jack
  • Must be able to build palletized freight shipments
  • Must be able to operate a pallet wrapper
  • Work overtime and shift work as business needs require
  • Must be able to adapt to changing tasks and schedules
  • Maintains a CGMP readiness of warehouse area through effective housekeeping and organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned in a timely fashion
  • Personnel must be able to demonstrate competency in following areas without assistance. The tasks listed for each function are not all inclusive; however, they do highlight the primary tasks of each function.
  • Must be able to perform duties accurately and safely in what can be a very busy environment at times
  • Packaging:
    • Package shipments accurately according to engineer driven packaging instructions
    • Work with the engineering team to develop new packaging for products

 

  • Shipping:
    • Accurately process domestic and international shipments
    • Understand the difference between prepaid, collect and 3rd parties shipping methods
    • Know how to process shipments through UPS, FedEx and LTL carriers
    • Accurately maintain inventory records to reflect all shipments
    • Ship dangerous and hazardous goods according to IATA and 49CFR shipping regulations (Certification will be provided)
    • File for ITN numbers through the ACE Portal system.
    • Help maintain records for daily shipment documentation, international compliance and IATA compliance

 

 

 

Job Requirements

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Education/Experience:  High school diploma or equivalent required with 4-5 years of shipping experience and/or training required

Computer Skills : Basic to Intermediate

Strong attention to detail

Able to work overtime, occasional weekends

Physical Activity Requirements:

Work Environment: Setup environment where the noise level is generally quiet to moderately noisy

Work Position: Primarily standing with some sitting

Body Movements: The employee will be required to perform daily tasks requiring repetitive motion and should take every effort to be informed and take necessary precautions to avoid injury.

Weight Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Sensory Requirements: Vision, speech, hearing, smell, and touch are routinely used in day to day functions
